Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine developed over 5,000 years ago. Through the insertion of sterile, thin needles into specific locations, acupuncture can help to balance the functioning of the body and relieve various aliments. Whether you have been suffering from stress, poor lifestyle habits, or injury, acupuncture treatments can help to balance your body and return you to optimum health.

Acupuncture can be used for a large variety of health conditions and offers relief of symptoms with a minimal amount of discomfort. Many patients are able to experience some relief of their symptoms during the first treatment, especially when treating stress and pain. Regular follow up visits are recommended to achieve maximum benefits.

Acupuncture at Our Clinic

At Haas Acupuncture, we use a variety of acupuncture techniques to best serve each patient’s needs. We primarily practice Balance Method acupuncture, and incorporate other styles when appropriate.

Balance Method Acupuncture

Ba GuaBalance Method Acupuncture, is Taiwanese style of acupuncture developed by Dr Richard Tan and based upon the Yi Jing (I Ching). This method is our foremost approach to treatment for all conditions. During treatment, distal acupuncture points are selected to holographically image the entire body and effectively treat pain and internal medicine disorders.

The Beauty of the Balance Method

Stand Pole, See Shadow”

One of the fundamental concepts of the Balance Method is the immediate effect of treatment. As proclaimed in the quote above, when we insert the acupuncture needle into the body, we will observe a change within seconds if the correct point has been chosen. The underlying theories of the Balance Method help to comprehend the complex network of the meridian system to properly balance any area of the body and resolve both pain and internal dysfunction.

Japanese Meridian Therapy

Ikeda Japanese Meridian Therapy is a softer style of acupuncture treatment that uses very thin needles and shallow insertions to gently balance the body, providing relaxation and relief of symptoms. Japanese style treatment is a full body experience offering a nearly pain-free treatment. This style is best suited to very sensitive patients and children. These treatments may include a “contact-style” non-insertion form of needling, thereby alleviating any anxiety over acupuncture needles.

We were fortunate to have studied Ikeda-style Japanese Meridian Therapy as an apprentice from a direct disciple of Ikeda Masakazu. Ikeda sensei is one of the most renowned acupuncturists in Japan today.

Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture

Mei ZenMei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture uses superficial needles on the face to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, creating a more youthful appearance. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture requires a commitment to bi-weekly treatments for five weeks to achieve the desired results. Many patients can notice changes in their skin immediately after the first treatment.
